Sina Fakhroddin: Pulse of Unity, Pulse of Diversity

Sina Fakhroddin, a distinguished percussionist, seamlessly melds Persian and Middle Eastern rhythms with Indian classical influences, captivating audiences through his cross-cultural musical explorations.

Renowned percussionist and composer Sina Fakhroddin, of Iranian-Kurdish heritage, commands an extensive repertoire of Persian and Middle Eastern percussion instruments, notably the Tombak and the Kurdish Daf. Mentored by luminaries including his uncle Saeed Abbasi, Bahman Rajabi, Pedram Khavar Zamini, and Navid Afghan, he adeptly embodies diverse musical styles. Since 2017, he has studied under Pandit Nayan Ghosh, honing his skills in Indian Tabla. 

With over two decades residing in India, Sina has graced stages alongside icons like Hans Raj Hans and Abida Parveen, while collaborating with Persian music virtuosos such as Hamid Motebassem and Ardeshir Kamkar. Holding Bachelor, Master, and M.Phil degrees in Hindustani Classical Music from Delhi University, he has also completed his PhD.

Sina is a respected educator, lecturing internationally on Indian and Iranian music, music therapy, and translating English works into Farsi. As founder of the Viuna Music Ensemble and Weme (World Ethnic Music Ensemble), he has showcased his talents at prestigious festivals worldwide, spanning France, Germany, India, and beyond.
