Sowmya Laxmi Narayanan is a prominent Bharatanatyam artist and key member of the Natya Vriksha Dance Collective, renowned for her prestigious performances and dedication to classical arts.
Sowmya Laxmi Narayanan has dedicated 16 years to mastering Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Padmashri Geeta Chandran at Natya Vriksha. Since her Arangetram in 2018, she has performed at esteemed venues such as Delhi Tamil Sangam and Brahma Gana Sabha. A Doordarshan ‘B’ grade artist and recipient of the Young Artists Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Sowmya is also an empaneled artist with SPIC MACAY. As a key member of the Natya Vriksha Dance Collective, she has graced prominent festivals including the Doverlane Music Conference and Khajuraho Dance Festival.
Alongside her solo career, she collaborates with her Guru in SPIC MACAY lecture demonstrations and contributes to teaching at Natya Vriksha. While pursuing a Master’s in Sociology from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, New Delhi, Sowmya continues her training in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music, striving for excellence and a deeper understanding of these classical art forms.
