Ruchi Gupta: Bharatanatyam’s Graceful Advocate

Ruchi Gupta, taught by Guru Smt. Sujata Dinesh and late Guru Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan, is a notable Bharatanatyam artist who cultivates talent and promotes India’s cultural heritage through Kirti Natya Niketan.

 

Ruchi Gupta, a respected Bharatanatyam artist, has performed widely both in India and internationally. She is a graded Doordarshan artist and an empanelled talent at CCRT, New Delhi. Ruchi began her Bharatanatyam training at four under Guru Smt. Sujata Dinesh in the Pandanallur Bani and advanced under late Guru Padmabhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan in the Thanjavur Bani, completing her Arangetram in one year. She holds degrees in Commerce from Delhi University and in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya. Additionally, she trained in Mridangam under Guru K.N. Padmanaban.

Ruchi’s institute, Kirti Natya Niketan, fosters young talent and promotes India’s cultural heritage. She has received several accolades, including the Kalashree Award from Ganesa Natyalaya and the Outstanding Bharatnatyam Artist Award by Routes 2 Roots. Her significant solo performances include recitals at the Lotus Temple, the Common-Wealth Games Baton Relay Ceremony, and various cultural festivals across India. Ruchi remains dedicated to advancing the art of Bharatanatyam.
