Raja Dutta: The Artful Guardian of Bharatanatyam Heritage

Raja Dutta, trained in Bharatnatyam by Guru Dr. C. V. Chandra Shekhar in Kolkata, is the founder of 'Manjistha Kala Kendra' and has been honored with numerous accolades, including the Gold Medal from 'Sarva Bharatiya Sangeet Parishad.'

Raja Dutta, based in Kolkata, is a leading figure in Bharatnatyam dance, trained by the eminent Guru Late Dr. C. V. Chandra Shekhar. His early training commenced under Guru Anita Mallick and advanced significantly in Chennai under Dr. Shekhar's expert guidance. Raja holds a Master's Degree in Bharatnatyam from Rabindra Bharati University and is proficient in the Pandanellur style, learned from Smt. Dr. Mamta Neogi Nakra in Montreal.

He has furthered his expertise through workshops with renowned masters such as Guru Leela Samson and Guru P. T. Narendran. Raja is the founder of 'Manjistha Kala Kendra,' dedicated to fostering Bharatnatyam and Creative Arts. His achievements include the Gold Medal from 'Sarva Bharatiya Sangeet Parishad' and awards from the International Cuttack Mahotsav and Nritthanrithyathi Dance Festival. With significant accolades from Doordarshan and E.Z.C.C., and the Sanjukta Panigrahi Award, Raja Datta also conducts international workshops, notably at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
