Initiated by her mother, Smt. Kanta Bhattacharya, she imbibed the Gwalior Gharana's wisdom and drew inspiration from Pt. Manas Chakraborty. Under Guru Late Ustad Rashid Khan of Rampur Sahaswan Gharana, her musical journey blossomed. Koyel's brilliance shines in soulful khayal performances, uniquely shaped by the Rampur Sahaswan style. With command over Sargam, Taankari, and Tarana, she infuses distinct tonal quality and style into her music. Academically excelling at Rabindra Bharati University, she earned accolades, including the Akhil Bhartiya Pratibha Puraskar.

A leading female vocalist, Koyel graces prestigious festivals and collaborates with luminaries. Beyond classical stages, her melodious voice resonates in television and film, collaborating with music director Shri Debojyoti Mishra.
