Hriday Parash Kalita, a phenomenal artist from Bezera near Guwahati, has dedicated over two decades to mastering Sattriya and Kathak. Born to Mr. Gambhir Chandra Deka and Mrs. Pranita Kalita, he embarked on his dance journey in 2001. Hriday holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sattriya from Assam Satra Mahasava, under Guru Bijoy Krishna Debogoswami, and a second degree from Sangit Satra, under Guru Barnali Mahanta. Additionally, he achieved Visharad in Kathak from Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Lucknow, under Guru Bipul Chandra Das. His extensive accolades include the Nrityashree Award (2018) and Nritya Surabhi Award (2019), among over 500 others.
Hriday has been praised by luminaries such as Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Performing Arts at Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, Hriday is a versatile artist, excelling not only in dance but also in acting, singing, and painting, reflecting a sophisticated and multifaceted talent.
