Aayush Mohan: Sarod Sage, Weaver of Musical Spells

Aayush Mohan, the Sarod’s luminary and founding member of the Mohan Brothers, leads a musical revolution, infusing ancient melodies with a contemporary flair that electrifies the classical music scene.

Aayush Mohan, renowned as a stellar Sarod maestro in the global Indian Classical music scene, collaborates with Sitar virtuoso Lakshay Mohan to form the visionary Mohan Brothers. As the first Indians at LA’s Grammy Museum, inaugurating ‘Ravi Shankar: A Life in Music’, they’ve graced TEDx stages four times, advocating cultural awareness in India.

Inspired by their 2012 Jugalbandi, Pandit Ravi Shankar propelled their debut USA tour under his foundation. A soloist and duet performer since 2009, Aayush has performed on prestigious stages globally, including Sawai Gandharva Pune, Symphony Space NYC, and Beijing’s Central Conservatory.

A grand-disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar, Aayush honed his art under Senia-Maihar Gharana luminaries like Pt. Balwant Rai Verma and Padmabhushan Smt. Sharan Rani.

His discography, featuring albums like “The Majestic Court” and “Echoes From the Yellow Land,” reflects his creative brilliance. In March 2022, Aayush showcased his artistry at London’s Royal Festival Hall for “The Ravi Shankar Centenary,” harmonizing alongside luminaries Anoushka Shankar, John Maclaughlin, and Dhani Harrison.
