Shubhashish Pathak: Pakhawaj Virtuoso and Cultural Diplomat

Shubhashish Pathak, an accomplished Pakhawaj and Tabla artist, has made substantial contributions to classical music through international performances, academic roles, and recognized achievements.

Shubhashish Pathak’s distinguished musical journey commenced in Mithila’s Amta, under the esteemed guidance of his father, Mridangacharya Pandit Ramashish Pathak. From an early age, he excelled in Pakhawaj and Tabla, leading to collaborations with maestros such as Pandit Abhay Narayan Mallick and Ustad Mohi Bahauddin Dager. As a graded artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan, Shubhashish significantly contributed to the classical music landscape.

His academic roles include teaching at Government College for Girls in Gurugram and serving as a cultural ambassador for ICCR in Mauritius, where he directed over 50 cultural events. Recognized with the ‘Young Artist Scholarship Award’ by the Ministry of Culture and a senior scholarship from Sangeet Natak Academy, his accolades also include the ‘Sangeet Sadhak Samman’ and ‘Kaka Kalelkar Samman’. Shubhashish Pathak’s remarkable career is a testament to his enduring impact on cultural enrichment and classical music.
