Rishikesh P. Pohankar, a masterful Bharatanatyam artist with advanced degrees from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, leads the Nrityaarangam Centre of Performing Arts and has trained under respected gurus for nearly two decades.
Rishikesh P. Pohankar, a masterfully trained Bharatanatyam artist, commenced his training under Guru Shri Kishor and Dr. Kishoree Hampiholi in Nagpur and continues to refine his art with Guru Smt. Ratnam J. Nair. With nearly two decades of dedication, Rishikesh has studied under esteemed mentors like Kalaimamani Guru Smt. Shobhana Bhalchandran and Guru Shri Unnikrishnan. He holds advanced degrees in Bharatanatyam from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai, and is the foremost student of Pratibha Nritya Mandir.
Rishikesh’s expertise extends to Indian folk dance, having researched under prominent gurus. As the founder of Nrityaarangam Centre of Performing Arts, he has choreographed and performed extensively, both solo and in troupes. His accolades include the Nritya Kaumudi Award and Pt. Gopikrishnan Award. Rishikesh also serves as a respected judge for national dance competitions and lectures at fine arts institutions in Assam and Sikkim. He is highly regarded for his contributions to the arts.
