Rayna Vasileva’s musical journey begins in Smolyan, Bulgaria, resonating with the folk echoes of Varna’s “Dobri Hristov.” At Sofia University, specializing in “Music Pedagogy” under maestro Svetla Karadjova, she deepens her roots. Avant-garde notes from Christiane Karam’s Berklee College of Music Master classes broaden her sonic horizons.
In 2023, Rayna attains mastery in “Pop and Jazz Vocal Performance” at New Bulgarian University under Senior Asst. Prof. Nelly Marinkova. Co-founding the transformative “Outhentic Band” in 2012 with brother Zhivko Vasilev, their albums “YesToday” (2016) and “Transparent” (2019) epitomize the fusion of Bulgarian folklore with jazz, funk, and pop.
