Pallavi Lohani: Leading Kathak’s Artistic and Academic Frontiers

Dr. Pallavi Lohani is a Kathak connoisseur and esteemed educator, revered for her exquisite talent and profound influence in the sphere of Indian dance.

 

Dr. Pallavi Lohani is an exceptional dance performer and instructor, formally trained in Indian Classical Dance Kathak, with a rich background in Bollywood and Indian Folk Dances. As the senior disciple of Guru Shovana Narayan at Asavari Centre of Kathak and trained under the guidance of Late Pt. Arjun Mishra Ji from the Lucknow Gharana, she embodies a profound dedication to her craft. A graded artist of Doordarshan, Pallavi holds a Ph.D. in Indian Classical Dance Kathak from MGCGVV Satna.

She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Kathak Dance at Tecnia Institute of Art & Design, New Delhi, and as an Acharya at Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan in collaboration with Shovana Narayan’s Asavari centre for Kathak. With extensive experience in teaching, choreographing, and performing at prestigious events, Pallavi has garnered numerous accolades, highlighting her as an influential figure in the dance community.
