Mahima Upadhyay, the Pakhawaj Queen, is a 15th-generation virtuoso from the Pt. Vasudev Upadhyay Pakhawaj Parampara, excelling internationally in pakhawaj and Hindustani classical vocal music.

Mahima Upadhyay, known as the Pakhawaj Queen, is a distinguished international artist. She represents the 15th generation of the illustrious Pt. Vasudev Upadhyay Pakhawaj Parampara of Gaya, Bihar, a legacy spanning 400 years. Trained rigorously by her father, the revered Pakhawaj Maestro Pt. Ravi Shankar Upadhyay, Mahima is the first female pakhawaj player in her family and Bihar. An "A Grade" artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan, she excels in both solo and duet performances.

Under her mother, Vidushi Malti Upadhyay, she also mastered Hindustani classical vocal music, topping her Master’s in Music (Vocal) from Khairagarh University. Mahima has captivated audiences across prestigious festivals worldwide, performing extensively in Europe, the USA, Indonesia, South Africa, and beyond, continuing her family's rich tradition in both pakhawaj playing and Dhrupad singing.
