Gaurav Shridhar: Weaving New Patterns in Kathak Choreography

Gaurav Shridhar, recipient of the Rashtriya Gaurav Sammaan and an eminent Kathak artist, excels in dancing, teaching, and pioneering innovative choreography.

Gaurav Shridhar, a dedicated Kathak artist, is a celebrated dancer, insightful teacher, and visionary choreographer, also proficient in tabla, pakhawaj, and Hindustani vocal music. Awarded the Rashtriya Gaurav Sammaan, he has represented Uttar Pradesh with his choreography, ranking 2nd in 2020. Gaurav has judged numerous inter-school competitions and conducted successful workshops, including “Amay” and “Sang,” in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi International Foundation. A CCRT scholarship holder and graded artist from Prasar Bharati Doordarshan, Gaurav’s artistry remains deeply rooted in the Jaipur Gharana’s traditions.

Trained under eminent gurus Pt. Abhimanyu Lal and Pt. Rajendra Kumar Gangani at Kathak Kendra, he continues to evolve, collaborating with artists across disciplines and pushing the boundaries of Kathak. Gaurav’s performances balance precision and fluidity, earning acclaim nationally and internationally. His vision includes innovative choreography while honoring the Jaipur Gharana’s heritage, making him a promising and influential figure in the Kathak dance community.
