Every year, the world celebrates hope. Not just on the first day of the year, but on days when people of compassion and conscience get together to raise funds for cancer victims. If you're in the west, you can sign up, volunteer or contribute for the next forthcoming Festival Of Hope on Saturday June 15th, 2013 at the Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds in Mitchell, NE. The Festival of Hope is a grass roots fund-raising event organized by volunteers committed to assist cancer patients during the treatment, recovery and the rehabilitation.
Our next stop is at HeartLine, Inc. which has been serving Oklahoma since 1971 and provides suicide prevention outreach programs, compassionate listening, information and referral services, and crisis intervention services. Their Festival of Hope seeks to raise awareness and support for HeartLine’s vital programs, while celebrating individuals or organizations that have provided hope to the community. This year, it will be held on Friday August 23, 2013 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
Of the many events (by the same name) organized by social welfare activists and organizations including Hope Foundation in Calcutta, we found an event organized in the National Capital Region, of India which was distinctive and successful. Popular names walked the ramp, and performed to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer patients. It was organized by Shalini Vig Wadhwa in association with Indian Cancer Society and DLF.
