Honorable Prime Minister,
Congratulations!
For the ensuing valuable years at hand,
may you live each day, with unfailing optimism.
And may you make a conscious effort day after day,
to inspire and awaken those with a sleeping conscience.
The power of belief that we bestow upon you now, you must promise
to promptly return by empowering our people and communities
with skills and knowledge that generate success and self-dependence.
We hope our troubles will never be invisible to you.
We hope that you won’t stop listening to us.
We may not ever meet, but your response will be visible
through your actions and decisions.
Please don't forget to balance patience with heeding urgency,
Please don't forget to build peace with meaningful speech,
Please don't forget to practice restraint with affable spontaneity.
And even though you may believe that
“it’s below your dignity to point fingers at wrongdoers”,
You must fearlessly bring them to justice.
Because your loyalty remains with us, your people,
Because that is a leader’s responsibility,
Because that is the way of the light.
Your delaying tactics, debating points or rebuttal skills won’t heal loss and anger.
Accepting accountability and rectifying the issue will.
Ultimately, the king and the farmer, the father and the child,
the flora and the fauna, the ‘us’ and the ‘them’,
are all equal in the eyes of our motherland.
From her were we all suckle to survive,
to her we shall remain forever indebted.
Vandē Mātaram!
