"The current work I am doing is very meditative, ritualistically I paint the canvas and draw a basic line structure to guide me, I then sit with the canvas on my lap and shut my mind and let my heart and hand take control of the needle. Threading the needle with the pre dyed thread I weave the tales of my subconscious on the canvas. I enjoy every process of my work and try to indulge in dying of the threads at the studio, which connects me to the threads from the beginning and somehow it becomes easier for me to express myself with these docile threads. The sound of the thread passing through the canvas sometimes sounds like the song of the canvas; poetically telling me which way to go, what color to choose."
ABOUT THE INTUITIVE ARTIST
A Fashion Design Graduate from NIFT, and a Textile Design Degree Holder from Nottingham Trent University, RUCHI GOYAL KAURA has participated in several solo and group shows. She expresses herself through acrylic colors, mix media, and thread work on canvas.
