Mahua Shankar, an esteemed Kathak dancer, holds the distinguished title of being an Empanelled artist of ICCR in the category of Established Kathak dancers. She also boasts the status of an A-Grade Kathak Artist accredited by Delhi Doordarshan. Her dance journey commenced under the tutelage of her parents, the late Shri Pradeep Shankar and her mother, Smt. Rekha Shankar. Progressing in her artistry, she became a devoted disciple of the renowned Sarangi Maestro Ustad Ghulam Sabir Khan, and later continued her learning journey under the expert guidance of acclaimed gurus, Smt. Reva Vidhyarthi and Vaswati Mishra. Having embarked on this remarkable educational path, she further enriched her skills by becoming a disciple of the prodigious Indian Classical Dance exponent, Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj.
