Bring It On

Artist’s Reflection

Teachers shape all of us. Directly or indirectly, they play a huge role in making us who we become.

But some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned weren’t taught in a classroom. They came from making my own mistakes, living through them, and finding my own way back. That’s how you learn to repair yourself.

Over the years, I’ve learned how to be happy. More importantly, I’ve learned not to let every problem become a permanent resident in my mind.

I remember a friend who would get completely overwhelmed whenever something went wrong. I’d tell him, “Yes, worrying is human. We all worry. But if worrying alone could solve the problem, then every problem would disappear on its own.”

The truth is, problems will keep coming for as long as we live. Even on our last day, there will probably be something to deal with.

The real question is not whether problems exist. It’s how we choose to face them.

Whenever life throws something difficult at me, my attitude is simple: Bring it on. I’ll find a way through.

The moment you stop seeing every obstacle as a defeat and start seeing it as something to overcome, you’ve already won most of the battle.

Another lesson life taught me is the value of contentment.

I play in an independent English rock band. Over the years, we received countless offers to move into Bollywood. We chose not to.

Could life have been bigger? Probably. Maybe there would have been more fame, larger shows, luxury cars, and a very different lifestyle.

But honestly, I’m perfectly happy with my Mahindra SUV. I don’t need a Mercedes, a Maserati, or a Lamborghini to feel successful.

Contentment doesn’t mean giving up ambition. Your ambitions should always be alive. They should keep pushing you to grow.

But the greatest reward is rarely the money. It’s that moment at the end of the day when you lie down and tell yourself, “Today, I created something worthwhile. Today, I achieved something that matters.” That feeling fills your life with a kind of positivity no amount of wealth can replace. That’s how I choose to live my life.
