Being around nature and animals reminds me that life exists beyond human urgency.
There is a quiet dignity in the way strays survive, adapt, and yet remain open to affection. It humbles me.
As an artist, it softens my gaze. I observe more, judge less.
And as a human being, it gives me a sense of responsibility, not from obligation, but from awareness.
Compassion, for me, is not something I try to practice. It deepens naturally, the more I stay connected to these lives around me.

Sanjukta Sinha is an Indian Kathak dancer, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardee, who has performed at venues such as the Royal Opera House London, Southbank Centre, and Fall for Dance New York, and collaborated with artists including Bikram Ghosh and Anoushka Shankar.
