Why Looking After Strays Is Our Shared Duty

Artist’s Reflection

The changing environment is affecting all of our lives in visible and invisible ways. Its impact is not limited to human beings alone; it extends equally to the animals who share our cities and streets with us. Stray dogs, cows, and many other animals live completely exposed to shifting weather conditions, without shelter, security, or consistent care.

While we take conscious steps to protect our own health by choosing organic food and healthier lifestyles, being a responsible citizen also means extending that awareness beyond ourselves. It requires acknowledging the lives of animals who have no homes and no families to depend on.

Many compassionate individuals already do their part. Some open their homes to animals in need, offering care and safety. Others ensure that injured or sick animals receive timely medical attention, or help place them in shelter homes where they can be looked after with dignity and kindness. These actions, however small they may seem, make a profound difference.

At the very least, we can all contribute in simple, meaningful ways. Offering good food, clean drinking water, and basic care helps animals survive harsh conditions. As the environment continues to change, it becomes our shared responsibility to act with empathy and awareness toward those who cannot speak for themselves.
