Dance is my life's philosophy. I am a dedicated full-time dance artist and practitioner, guided by the esteemed Padmabhushan Dr. C.V. Chandra Shekhar. My life is truly immersed in the world of dance.
From the vibrant streets of Kolkata to the heart of Chennai's cultural dynamism, Raja Datta's dance voyage has been nothing short of enchanting. Guided by the illustrious Guru Shri. (Padma Bhushan) Dr. C. V. Chandra Shekhar, Raja's passion for Bharatnatyam flourished. Starting under Guru Anita Mullick's nurturing, Raja's pursuit of perfection led him to the radiant tutelage of Guru C. V. Chandra Shekhar. Here, Bharatnatyam's profound beauty unfolded within him. His academic prowess in dance is commendable, with a Master's Degree in Bharatnatyam from Rabindra Bharati University. Versatile in the elegant Pandanellur style, learned under Smt. Dr. Mamta Neogi Nakra in Montreal, Raja's artistry shines. Fueling his passion, Raja founded 'Manjistha Kala Kendra,' a bastion dedicated to promoting Bharatnatyam and the Creative Arts. His journey sparkles with accolades, including the Nrityamani Award and recognition from the International Cuttack Mahotsav. Beyond India's borders, Raja's dedication extends globally through illuminating dance workshops, sharing the tapestry of Bharatnatyam's artistry and culture with a diverse audience.
